Damage is a 2009 action film starring Stone Cold Steve Austin. It is written by Frank Hannah and directed by Jeff King. The film is a hard-edged, bare-knuckles fight film that focuses on the tough choices people make in times of recession. "Damage" is the first in a multi-picture deal between Austin, Nasser Entertainment, and Caliber Media.

Plot

An ex-con John Brickner (Steve Austin) paroled from prison, driven into the illegal world of underground fighting. Brickner attempts to renew his life on the outside amidst a world infused with degenerates, criminals and killers. With the help of slick fighting promoter Reno (Walton Goggins) and his cut person Frankie (Laura Vandervoort), Brickner soon finds himself climbing the underground ranks. The stakes escalate as Brickner puts it all on the line in a fight to the death.

Production

Damage began filming in Vancouver on October 17, 2008.[3] Real fighters were hired as jobbers to make fight sequences more realistic. Steve Austin broke the nose of MMA fighter Paul Lazenby while filming a fight scene on October 22.[4] It was released on October 5, 2009 in the United Kingdom on DVD and had a theatrical release in the USA of January 28, 2010[5].
