Aisha

Aisha is a 2010 Hindi language romantic comedy film directed by Rajshree Ojha and starring Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the lead roles.[1] The film was released on 6 August 2010.[2] The film is a modern day adaption of the 1815 British novel, Emma by Jane Austen, a 'comedy of manners' set in the upper class society of Delhi, India.[3]
Aisha (Sonam Kapoor) is a girl with a simple problem - she has to take others problems into her own hands. She is constantly criticized by Arjun (Abhay Deol) who advises her to stop meddling with others lives. She is unperturbed and carries on. She tries to make a match between her rustic friend Shefali (Amrita Puri) and Randhir (Cyrus Sahukar) and then with Dhruv (Arunoday Singh) until one day she realizes that love does not come by force. She realizes that she had been selfish and arrogant all along. She realizes that Arjun loved her all along.
On the review-aggregation website ReviewGang, the film scored 5.5/10 based on 5 reviews.[4] Noyon Jyoti Parasara of Yahoo! Movies rated the film 2.5/5 and says, "Overall, Aisha is best in the promos! The film clearly misses the spark and ends up as an average product".[5] IANS gave 3 out of 5 star for film by praising Kapoor's daughter work and says,"the film belongs to Sonam Kapoor, make no mistake of that".[6] Gaurav Malani of IndiaTimes rated it 2.5/5 saying, "What starts as a cheerful chick flick sadly ends up being a lame love story".[7] Nikhat Kazmi of the Times of India rated it 4/5 and stated, "Sweet love, substantial performances, super fun, slick 'n stylish, Aisha is a-ha stuff.".[8] Sukanya Verma of Rediff rated it 3/5 and said, "Aisha, quite often, gets caught up in a self-created tangle of brand-led vanity to ever let one get acquainted to its leading lady".[9] Guneet of Filmicafe.com gave it a 2.5/5.[10]
